The Woman in Black : Angel of Death (2014, Tom Harper)

A sequel to The Woman In Black is in the works, with original author Susan Hill on board.

Hammer's adaptation of Hill's acclaimed 1983 ghost story, starring Daniel Radcliffe, became the most successful British horror movie of the last 20 years, taking $33 million (£21 million) in the UK and $120 million (£75 million) worldwide.

Now, Hill will collaborate with Hammer directly on The Woman In Black: Angels Of Death. Although the story was never written as a follow-up novel, it is an original story developed by Hill herself, marking the beginning of a franchise. The screenplay will be written by Jon Crocker.

The Woman In Black was set in the early 1900s and following a young lawyer travelling to the deserted Eel Marsh House to sort the papers of a recently-deceased client. The sequel will pick up events 40 years later and focus on a young couple’s experiences at Eel Marsh House.

Simon Oakes, Vice-Chairman of Exclusive Media and President and CEO of Hammer Films said: "We are proud and honoured to be working with Susan again on The Woman In Black: Angels Of Death, a wonderful new tale every bit as atmospheric and terrifying as its predecessor The Woman In Black."

Loin d'être exceptionnel il en reste tout de même assez captivant.
Je l'ai vu il y a déjà un bon moment mais j'en garde un bon souvenir.

J'ai adoré le premier qui est extrêmement angoissant et aussi dramatique que beau.
Mais le deuxième...Il est certes toujours aussi flippant, l'atmosphère gothique toujours aussi somptueuse, les séquences de flippe efficace malgré une surrenchère de jump-scares qui était dispensable, mais l'histoire et les personnages....QUELLE CATASTROPHE !!
Le personnage du lieutnant n'a AUCUNE raison d'être là (à moins de vouloir se vider les couilles), la relation entre les enfants sont baclé et aurait pu être bien plus intense, l'actrice principal inexpressive, le développement de l'intrigue vraiment lamentable et nous conduisant à un genre d'Happy End que je déteste, surtout quand le final est décevant.

MAIS bon, j'ai quand même été bien stressé et angoissé par moment donc rien que pour la flippe, les deux volet valent le coup.

J’avais trouvé le premier opus, avec Daniel Radcliffe, correct sans plus. La curiosité a fait en sorte, que j’ai décidé de voir cette suite. Malheureusement, j’ai trouvé le film encore moins bon que son prédécesseur. L’histoire se déroule quarante ans plus tard, pendant la seconde guerre mondiale. Huit écoliers, leur enseignante et la directrice quittent Londres, pour se mettre à l’abri à Crythin Gifford. Mise à part une assez bonne réalisation et un visuel intéressant, le film n’a rien d’extra. Il n’est vraiment pas effrayant, possède plusieurs longueurs et peine à captiver. C’est sans oublier un casting très ordinaire.
