Citation :
Remember Doom? Of course you do. It's one of the most influential videogames of all time, ushering in a new age of first-person shooters and space marines that continues to dominate the industry today. Oh wait, are we talking about the movie? Oh, then yeah... We forgot all about that. Universal would like to forget about it too, since according to WhatsPlaying they're looking to reboot the franchise. Or at least, the potential franchise, since the original Doom completely failed to generate any interest in sequels.

File this under 'RUMORS' for now, but apparently a new take on Doom is in the the early stages of development, with Universal eyeing screenwriters for the job. We're excited about the prospect, and even suggested ourselves that a Doom reboot would be a great idea, provided that the right talent was involved. The right talent might have some serious hurdles to overcome, since Universal's apparently super-duper gun shy about R-rated entertainment right now, and also they want to shoot the thing in 3D.

Wait and see...
