The Conjuring (2013, James Wan)

James Wan, le réalisateur de Saw et Insidious, actuellement sur les écrans, devrait réaliser The Conjuring pour New Line Cinema. Le long métrage, écrit par Carey et Chad Hayes (Les Châtiments), est adapté de faits rééls survenus dans les années 70 à une famille de Rhode Island. Un couple d’experts en phénomènes paranormaux s’apperçoit que des fantômes hantent leur maison et décident de chasser ces esprits maléfiques. Aucune date de tournage n’est annoncée pour le moment.

''James Wan (Insidious) has begun courting actors for his upcoming New Line film, The Conjuring. Patrick Wilson (Young Adult, Watchmen and Insidious) and Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Orphan) are both said to be eyeing roles.

Per Variety, "James Wan and New Line have selected Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson to star in the horror pic 'The Conjuring.' The two thesps are in final negotiations to star and Wan is on board to direct. Chad and Carey Hayes sold the original pitch."

The project is inspired by the true-life story of the Perron family, who claimed they "lived among the dead" in the 1970s as spirits both friendly and sinister inhabited their Rhode Island farmhouse.

The film, "inspired by the supernatural events that happened in the Rhode Island home of the Perron family," would have the director returning to the realm of domestic haunts. Originally on Summit's radar, New Line stepped in and bought the pitch when talks fell through.''

''I loved Insidious -- like really loved it – and totally dug Death Sentence, so I’m looking forward to James Wan’s next horror/ghost story (even though I’m lukewarm on his Saw film). Titled The Conjuring, the picture is in pre-production and is bustling through the casting process. THR, which broke the first story, reports that Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor are also part of Wan’s growing ensemble, which will begin filming in North Carolina this March. Livingston (Office Space) and Taylor (Say Anything) would play the spooked couple.

The trade also says that Wan's film is now operating under a working title of The Untitled Warren Files Project, so don’t grow too attached to The Conjuring. Chad and Carey Hayes are credited with the screenplay, which claims to be based on factual events that occurred to the Perron family in the 1970s. New Line, in acquiring the pitch, claimed the rights to the story of the Perrons as well as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, so we’ll see what specific changes are made between now and release.

Either way, I'm thrilled that Wan’s staying with ghost stories for the foreseeable future. He might have helped define the current torture-horror genre with Saw, and showed potential with Sentence. But his Insidious was truly terrifying, and I want to see if he can move to Rhode Island and maintain those ghostly tensions.''

De ce fait, ce ne sera pas un... mais deux films réalisés par James Wan que nous aurons dans les prochaines années !!!

Ça sort le 19 Juillet 2013 :

Le trailer de Conjuring vient d'apparaître sur la toile et il est prometteur.

Il dissipe la majorité des craintes que je pouvais avoir.

Une BA qui présente assez largement quelques scènes du film, soyez-en avertis.

Faut dire que cet extrait (personne ne va me convaincre que cette affaire-là est un trailer...) commence fort avec l'excellente musique :



Autrement, mes attentes du début sont tout aussi fortes qu'avant!

Avec ce film-ci, je décide de me laisser vierge de toute bande-annonce.

1- C'est un extrait de tout une scène au complet.

2- On dirait le début du film.

Woaw ! Ça à réelement l'air flippant !

Et en effet, la musique du début est sympa, mais je préfère la version de Ben Taylor, présente dans la BO de Prom Night.
